Beginnings

Growing up Korean-American, our founder spent much of her childhood traveling between Los Angeles and Korea, where she developed a deep appreciation for the country’s unique baking culture. As a lifelong 빵순이 (bbang-soonie), a devoted bread lover in Korean terms, she was drawn to the textures, imaginative flavors, and sense of comfort found in those bakeries. In her culture, bbang-soonies see bread as more than something to eat; it is a source of happiness, warmth, and love. Those experiences shaped her understanding of home and left a lasting impression that continues to inspire her. Through every bake, she hopes to share a little piece of home with others. To help bring that vision to life, she built a team that shares the same passion for connection and good eats. Together, they aim to create a space where every guest feels part of something familiar.

Our baking

Our team spent each day of an intensive program training at the Korea Baking School, founded in 1972 as Korea’s first bakery and confectionery institution. Guided by KMBA master bakers, we refined both classic techniques and modern skills shaped by Korea’s colorful food culture. The school’s longstanding partnership with U.S. Wheat Associates reflects a unique exchange between the two countries’ baking histories. Our curriculum, personally curated by the Chairman, focused on Korea’s most popular and emerging baked goods.

Our cafe

Our bakery café is built on direct approaches to quality, shaped by years of hands-on experience and deep cultural roots. Our lead barista brings a decade of specialty coffee expertise, grounded in traditional manual techniques and balanced, consistent preparation. Family ties to long-established Central American coffee farms influence how we source and present our coffee. Alongside coffee, we highlight Korean teas and East Asian tea traditions, with Korean ades and fruit-based drinks offering a refreshing complement.
